Galaxy Netball Club
Galaxy Netball Club, based in Sandy, Bedfordshire, has been a shining star in the local sports community since its formation in March 2020. Starting with just two teams—Galaxy Stars and Galaxy Comets—the club has grown tremendously over the years. Today, Galaxy Netball boasts six teams competing across four divisions in the prestigious Heritage Netball League: Galaxy Stars, Galaxy Rockets, Galaxy Novas (formerly Comets), Galaxy Asteroids, Galaxy Solars, and Galaxy Flares.
As a friendly, inclusive, and forward-thinking club, Galaxy Netball has become a cornerstone of the Bedfordshire netball community. This dedication was recognised when the club was proudly nominated as Bedfordshire Netball Club of the Year 2024, earning a spot in the finals—a testament to their passion and progress.
Supporting the Next Generation of Bedfordshire Netball Stars
After hosting two successful summer camps, Galaxy Netball expanded their reach by launching Galaxy Youth Netball Club in August 2024. The youth program includes two sessions per week for:
- Bees (Years 3–6)
- Youth (Years 7–12)
The year 5 and 6 players proved their talent early on, participating in a mini league from September to October 2024. Competing in Division 1 of the deciding tournament, they secured an impressive 4th place overall in their division—a fantastic achievement for such a young team!
Looking ahead, Galaxy Netball is excited to see how their newly formed youth teams perform:
- Galaxy Nebulas (Years 5–6)
- Galaxy Protostars (Years 7–8)
- Galaxy [TBC] (Years 9–10)
